#5 - You find yourself going into work on Saturday late, and run into the Wednesday morning meeting room.

#4 - Human resources sent you your final notice that you have not accrued vacation for the last 6 months because you are maxed out.

#3 - Your wife is having all of your personal mail forwarded to work.

#2 - You buy cafeteria lunch tickets by the roll to get the 30% discount.

and the number on reason to know that you need a vacation.

You give out your work number out as the best number to reach you at after 5:00 P.M.

Why does it seem like that Monday morning always seems to find itself linked with the blues and Friday leads itself to being a party day.

This seems backwards....

For some people....

Mondays bring us back to the reality of making a livelihood...

Fridays bring us far from that reality..

Easy, here is some help.

Think about some terms that 20 years ago were not in our language because of the internet.

Googleing would have been a combination of saying a 1 with 100 zeroes while yodeling.

Facebook was something that you saw in the dermatologist's office.

MySpace was something that everyone needed a few feet of to feel comfortable.

Twitter is what you hear a little bird sing as it flew into a window.

A virus caused a cold while a virus scanner was a large microscope.

Spyware was clothes that made you look like James Bond..

And Al Gore was a kid that no one had ever heard of.

A tiny sports commentary. Prince Fielder is a pretty good hitter considering he is now eating vegetarian. I have been watching Prince since he played in the minor leagues in Beloit WI. Congrats to Prince for winning the home run derby!

As the King of the Blues 2009 contest first round comes closer, I will be taking more time to refine my playing to improve my chances during the contest. I will have to work hard to do better than I did last time. But while doing that I may unfortunately let the blog slow down a little. Don't worry, as soon as I can get the solo down I will start blogging about how I am getting ready.

As many of you know, I am doing some serious bike riding to try and lose a little weight. Today while riding on my bike by the river, I heard this high pitched quiet screeching sound. I looked over where the sound was coming from and I saw a little snapping turtle who had fallen sideways between some rocks, and he was stuck....

I chuckled a for a second at the little guy who was stuck and decided to go give the little dude a hand. When I got over, the snapping turtle wanted nothing to do with me. He tried to bite my finger off several times. I finally put a stick in front of his face and got the little snapping turtle unstuck. When he got his bearings, he looked at me and hissed like something I never heard. I laughed at the little guy as he made his way back in to the river.

I got back on my bike thinking to myself, there is a little lesson in this for me. How many times do people try and help me and I turn them away. We all need a little help up from time to time, and we also need to learn to accept it.

UPDATE: July 5, 2009. Sign up for this years KOTB has been taking place for a few days now. I am hearing reports that some stores are starting to fill up quite rapidly, and others are still looking through the delivery for the sign up sheets. We have been having quite the discussion over at the forum about the quality of the backing tracks, although produced very well, are somewhat limiting to guitar. I plan on using that to the best of my ability and I am going to try and create a vocal quality from my guitar (no, not a talk box folks).
